Acceptable Use

SubDesk is provided for the sole purpose of helping substitute teachers manage classroom activities and communicate with absent teachers in K-12 schools.

By using SubDesk, you agree to:

Use the service only for legitimate educational purposes
Not attempt to bypass any security measures
Not use the service to collect any personal information from students
Not share login credentials or allow unauthorized access
Comply with all applicable laws and school policies

Educational Intended Use

                SubDesk is designed for K-12 educational settings.
                The service is intended for use by adult substitute teachers and school staff in classrooms. All activities are meant to be teacher-directed.
            

Our content is curated to be age-appropriate for K-12 students. We expect users to exercise judgment in selecting appropriate activities for their specific classroom contexts.

Limitations of Service

SubDesk provides activities and reporting tools as a convenience to substitute teachers. We strive for accuracy and relevance, but:

Activities are AI-generated or hand-crafted and should be reviewed by the teacher before use
We cannot guarantee every activity is perfect for every classroom situation
The service is provided "as is" without warranties
We aim for 99.9% uptime but cannot guarantee perfect availability

User Responsibilities

As a user of SubDesk, you are responsible for:

Reviewing activities before presenting them to students
Ensuring activities are appropriate for your specific students
Maintaining the privacy and safety of students in your care
Protecting your own account credentials
Complying with your school's policies and procedures

Limitation of Liability

SubDesk is not liable for any damages arising from your use of the service. This includes, but is not limited to: damages resulting from activity content, report inaccuracies, service interruptions, or data loss.

We provide the service free of charge. In no event shall SubDesk, its parent company, or its contributors be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.

Privacy & Data

Your use of SubDesk is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we handle your data. By using SubDesk, you agree to the terms of our Privacy Policy.

Critically, SubDesk is designed to never collect student personal information. If you become aware of any data collection that violates this principle, please contact us immediately.

Modifications to Service

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of SubDesk at any time. We may also update these terms from time to time. Continued use of SubDesk after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

Termination

We reserve the right to terminate access to SubDesk for any user who violates these terms or misuses the service. Users may also stop using the service at any time.
